We are pleased to announce on Thursday 19th September we officially opened the new Ei Group Pub Support Hub Wakefield and the new Craft Union pub - Union Bank

The event was held to celebrate the £1.7m investment and transformation of the Historic Grade II listed building, originally built in 1874 as the Wakefield & Barnsley Union Bank. Located on Westgate in the heart of Wakefield, the new development is home to the Craft Union pub support offices and a new Ei Group training & meeting facility.

Further details of how to book meeting spaces and use the Pub Support Hub facility will be available on the Group Intranet shortly.

The event was officially opened by Mary Creagh MP for Wakefield & Trace Austin Deputy Major of Wakefield.

The Union Bank is the third Craft Union pub to open in Wakefield joining the Strafford Arms & Raven. The investment in the Pub Support Hub Wakefield has created an additional 20 jobs from the local community.

Guests for the evening included Ei Group support teams, EiPP Ops, Property, Partner Contractors, Craft Union support team and Operators. The evening celebrated the efforts of all those involved who contributed in some way to making the project a success.

Kevin Tickett from the Wakefield Civic Society presented the new Blue Plaque commemorating the history of the building

Special thanks were given to Tracy Neal, Architect & Designer, who led the creative restoration of the entire project and design.

Guests enjoyed food, drink & entertainment based on a 1920’s theme. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the opening an event to remember.
