"This pub has been a firm favourite for many years, but we hadn't been to Northumberland for 18 months before our visit today. It was so pleasing to see the two usual ladies behind the bar, and the fact that they recognised us was the icing on the cake. Our meals were prepared to perfection and the friendly atmosphere made for a very relaxed lunch. That we shall return , is a foregone conclusion!"

"Great stopping off place to eat en route between Wooler and Newcatle. Beautifuly cooked chicken curry and my husband ordered mince and dumplings. We ordered small meals and received very generous portions, and the chef , who should have been off duty by 3.00, p.m.stayed to serve us. Well done the staff."

"Our family love the Shoulder, it serves excellent food, nice menu and the staff are lovely. We have to have the potato skins to start tats become a tradition! I had a lovely gammon steak with pineapple and an egg as a moon and it was excellent, but a big portion. But when I looked at desserts and saw lemon meringue pie well I had to home some and it was really good"

"We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night as a family of 9, as we were on holiday nearby. We had meals including roast of the day, steak, and scampi and chips, and we all enjoyed everything. The food was hot, perfectly cooked and served promptly. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. I would highly recommend a visit here, and we will definitely return if we are in the area again. Thank you!"

Would absolutely recommend you give it a try. Kids menu i would say was a little limited but still good and my daughter enjoyed hers very much."

"After reading previous reviews my husband and myself decided to go for lunch before our stay at Linden Hall. The welcome we got was fab from the staff. My husband had the roast of the day and I went for the chicken curry. Our meals were delicious and plentiful. Would definitely recommend this place and would definitely return when we are in the area."
